Legendary Indian singer Usha Uthup, known for her incredible voice and humor, is facing a tough time following the recent loss of her second husband, Jani Chacko Uthup. Jani passed away on July 8 in Kolkata, as reported by PTI. The family shared that Jani experienced discomfort while watching TV at their home. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors declared him brought dead due to a massive cardiac arrest. He was 78 years old.

Jani Chacko Uthup, associated with the tea plantation sector, first met Usha in the early ’70s at the iconic nightclub Trincas. Their bond grew from there, leading to their marriage. Jani’s last rites are set to be held on Tuesday, July 9. He is survived by his wife Usha, daughter Anjali, and son Sunny.

Usha Uthup, a beloved figure in the music industry, began her journey at the tender age of nine. Before marrying Jani, she was married to the late Ramu. Usha currently resides in Kolkata, West Bengal. Her career took off in 1969 when she started singing in a small nightclub in Chennai. Her popularity soared, leading her to perform in Calcutta at venues like Trincas, where she eventually met Jani.
