Javed Akhtar CONFIRMS Farhan Akhtar-Shibani Dandekar wedding, says it will be a ‘simple affair’

Over the past few weeks, Farhan Akhtar and his longtime girlfriend Shibani Dandekar have managed to stay in the headlines due to their rumoured wedding. Now, Farhan’s father and legendary lyricist  Javed Akhtar has finally confirmed that his son is all set to tie the knot this year on February 21.

Confirming the same, Javed told to the Times Of India and said:  “Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners.”

Further, he stated that Farhan and Shibani’s wedding will be an intimate affair due to the Coronavirus pandemic, “Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple affair. Khair abhi tak toh invitations bhi nahi bheje gaye hai,” said Akhtar.

Javed Akhtar also called Shibani a ‘nice girl’ and welcomed into their family, “She is a very nice girl. All of us like her very much. The most important thing is that Farhan and she get along very well, which is great,” concluded Javed.

Reportedly,Farhan and Shibani will be celebrating their marriage with family and close friends at Javed Akhtar’s Khandala farmhouse, “Farhan and Shibani always wanted an intimate wedding and are really excited about their big day. The party will be a small affair with only people from their inner circle in attendance. It will all be about food, music, laughter and celebration,” reported Pinkvilla.

The couple has been dating for over three years now, and their fans were eagerly waiting to see them get married. Meanwhile, Farhan and Shibani are yet to react.
