Javed Akhtar on Shabana Azmi’s accident: This is not the right time to discuss any foul play

In an unfortunate turn of events today, veteran actress Shabana Azmi was injured severely after her car met with an accident on Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The actress was soon shifted to MGM hospital in Navi Mumbai. Javed Akhtar was also in the same car but thankfully he is not gravely injured.

The veteran lyricist was seen assisting people as they took his wife to the hospital. He opened up about the unfortunate accident and shared health update of his wife.

Javed Akhtar, speaking to Peepingmoon, said that Shabana’s injuries are serious and she needs everyone’s blessings. “The driver is also injured and not well enough to give any statement on who was on the wrong side. This is not the right time to discuss any foul play as she has been shifted to the trauma ward. We were in the third lane when suddenly the driver took a turn and the Tata Safari hit the truck from the left side. Shabana suffered the most as she was sitting on the left side. It took us twenty minutes to get an ambulance,” shared the veteran lyricist.

Reportedly a special ambulance is said to have already left for Navi Mumbai to bring Shabana and her driver back in Mumbai. Both of them will be apparently admitted to Lilavati Hospital for further treatment.

Yesterday, the entire Akhtar and Azmi family was busy celebrating Javed Akhtar’s 75th birthday. And everyone had a gala time at his retro theme birthday bash.
