Jawan: Shah Rukh Khan starrer’s advance booking picks pace a day before release, sells over 5 lakh tickets

The storm of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is all set to take over the nation on Thursday. But even a day before release, the film is making new records and achieving new milestones. With less than a day to release, Jawan has gathered steam in its advance booking and achieved high numbers.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, by 10:45 PM on Thursday night, Jawan has sold over 5.31 lakh tickets across the three national multiplex chains- PVR, INOX and Cinepolis. With this, the film has surpassed KGF 2 (5.15 lakhs). Along with it, it has gotten very close to the numbers of Pathaan (5.56 lakhs). There is still a few hours to go and the film seemed to have shifted in another gear on the last day before release. Considering this pace, Jawan might cross the numbers of Pathaan. It will jump to second place after Baahubali 2.

The numbers are predicting a storm at the box office and Jawan is expected to have over Rs 100 crores collection globally on Day 1. With a four-day extended weekend, the collection is expected to cross Rs 300 crores in this time. Even with a non-holiday release, Jawan is also expected to cross the record of highest Hindi film opener set by Pathaan.

The excitement for Jawan started building from its prevue. Then the songs added to it, and by releasing the trailer just a week before release, makers added to the anticipation. Apart from SRK, Jawan also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, marking both of their Hindi theatrical debuts. It also has Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover and Ridhi Dogra in the cast. The actioner is directed by Atlee with the music given by Anirudh. Jawan has a release date of September 7, 2023.
