Atlee on Jawan OTT cut
Shah Rukh’s Pathaan also was a resounding success at the box office earlier this year. However, when it released on OTT, it came with an extended uncut version. So, when asked if Jawan OTT cut will also be different from the theatrical version, Atlee gave an interesting answer. He told Pinkvilla, “I think we’ve given the right ration of emotions, the right length to theatrical. For OTT, we are considering a different rhythm to it. So, yeah, of course, we are working on something so that’s why I didn’t go on my holiday. I’m working on something. Let’s see. Let me surprise you all.”
Possibility of Jawan’s sequel?
Not just that, the director also teased about the possibility of a sequel to Jawan. When pointed out the open ending of the film, leaving a scope for Jawan 2, Atlee said it has been his pattern always. He insisted, “Every film of mine has such kind of ending. I never had a thought of doing a sequel to any of the films. But I have given an open heart to it. So, if something strong comes to me, definitely I’ll come up with that. As of now, I’ve just kept it very open. I can come up with a sequel, later. But definitely, I’ll come.”
The scope of Jawan 2 and a new OTT version has surely kept the fans excited. Meanwhile, the film is still ruling the box office in its theatre run. Jawan has collected Rs 735.02 crores until its second Friday at the worldwide box office. The film also features Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover and Ridhi Dogra. It released in theatres on September 7, 2023.
