Jaya Bachchan gets furious over media for calling ‘Aishwarya’

At Subhash Ghai’s party at an Andheri pub on Thursday night, Jaya snapped at the lensmen who addressed her daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as “Aishwarya”. Around 10.30 pm when the two ladies were met by a group of photographers who called out to Aishwarya to pose for them is when it all happened. But what they got was a tongue-lashing from Jaya.

Jaya did not take kindly to her bahu’s first name being used by the photographers. She turned around and thundered: “Kya Aishwarya Aishwarya bula rahe ho, tumhare class mein padhti thi kya?

The photographers were rather taken taken back by Jaya’s anger. Aishwarya maintained a poker face throughout the episode and the two left immediately.

A photographer present at the venue said, “What else does one call her? Sometime ago, Abhishek Bachchan too had screamed at us for referring to his wife as Ash telling us that her name is Aishwarya and not Ash. Do they expect us to call her Mrs Bachchan?”
Seems, Jaya Bachchan is a rather protective mother-in-law.
