Gorgeous actress Jaya Prada, who ruled the Hindi film industry in the 80s, is back to woo the audience with her charm and persona, as she is all set to make her television debut very soon. Apart from having a glorious career in Bollywood and down South, Jaya has been active in politics.
She believes that there has been a tremendous change in the way films were made then and the way they are made now. Talking about the changes she has witnessed, Jaya told DNA, “Yes, everything from performances, music to technology has changed. As far as music is concerned, you won’t get to hear the melodies of ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. Aaj rap milega sunneko. I miss the melody of my own songs. Technology has changed by leaps and bounds. Today you can make a Rs 200 crore film like ‘Baahubali’. As far as content is concerned, there are two categories — a true story like ‘Raazi’ and a costume drama going back in time like ‘Baahubali’.”
When asked about which film from her filmography she would like to see a remake of, the veteran actress said, “There are several films but I would want ‘Sargam’ to be remade because it is a film for all-time. It was extremely successful, it ran in the theatres for one year! It proved to be my successful entry into Bollywood. It remains fresh. It was a beautiful film full of dance.”

‘Sargam’ that released in 1979, starred Rishi Kapoor alongwith Jaya in it. The film boasts of some great melodies, with ‘Dafliwale Dafli Baja’ still being loved immensely by music lovers. According to the same report, Jaya wishes that if this film is ever remade then she would like to see Ranbir Kapoor play Rishi’s role, as she feels that he can play any character effortlessly. And for her character in the film she feels, Alia Bhatt would be the ideal choice as she finds her sensitive, cute and a natural actress.
Well, we totally agree with Jaya on this. We hope some filmmaker is reading this and makes the remake of ‘Sargam’ starring Ranbir and Alia very soon.
