Jeffery Archer: Bollywood stole my ‘Kane and Abel’ and made ‘Khuddar’

Celebrated author Jeffrey Archer was recently in Mumbai to promote his latest book ‘Mightier Than The Sword’. The writer met his fans at a book store here. Jeffery discussed many thing with the crowd gathered there, such as cricket, the ongoing world cup and Bollywood too.

Jeffrey Archer also revealed that, Bollywood might be investing on the first book of his popular Clifton Chronicle series- ‘Only Time Will Tell’ and that he was scheduled to meet UTV head Ronnie Screwvala for a meeting.

Jefery said, he is open to adaptation by Indian filmmakers, but seemed unhappy by the unofficial adaptation of his books by Bollywood directors in the past. “Bollywood stole my book ‘Kane and Abel’ and made a film.”

On his prompting his Indian agent revealed the name of the film as”Khuddar”. The movie that was a big hit had Shatrughan Sinha and Jeetendra playing the Bollywood version of Kane and Abel.
