After 10 long years, Sooraj Pancholi has been found not guilty in the Jiah Khan death case. A special CBI court on Friday acquitted actor Sooraj Pancholi citing a lack of evidence against him. He was accused of abetting the suicide of his then-actor-girlfriend in 2013.

Sooraj Pancholi was acquitted in Jiah Khan’s death case by Judge AS Sayyed of the special CBI court in Mumbai. He said, “Due to paucity of evidence, this court can’t hold you (Sooraj Pancholi) guilty, hence acquitted“. The late actress’ mother Rabia Khan reacting to the news says she will now move the High Court.
Speaking to CNN News 18 Jiah Khan’s mother said, “This is a case of murder. The abetment to suicide case has gone but the murder case is still there. I will not give up hope.. I will keep fighting. I will approach the High Court, Supreme Court, whatever is required to get justice for my daughter.”
.Jiah Khan died by suicide at her Juhu home on June 3, 2013. The actress was discovered hanging in her Juhu residence in suburban Mumbai. Sooraj was booked by the Mumbai police based on a letter written by Jiah Khan, being seized on June 10, 2013. Sooraj was charged with abetment to suicide but later he was granted bail. On January 31, 2018, a Mumbai court officially charged Pancholi with abetting Khan’s suicide, under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.
Sooraj, in his final statement in the court, had claimed that the investigation and chargesheet were false and pleaded innocence.

Sooraj Pancholi to visit Siddhivinyak temple
As per TOI reports, Sooraj Pancholi will be visiting Siddhivinayak Temple after leaving the court. He will be accompanied by his mother actress Zarina Wahab. The actor and his family wish to thank the Vighnaharta.
