From Bollywood to TV celebs, many have posted on social media about mental health issues. We had an interaction with ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ actor Jitendra Kumar where we asked him how the death of Sushant impact on the young talents. To which he replied, “When one achieves from zero and people are appreciating your work and have accepted you, and consider you as a hero and then when you suddenly take this drastic step, they become very sad and they might have a feeling of fear that what wrong happened. I think it had a huge impact on the family and we should give some space to the grieving family. Actually we don’t know what he was going through and what were the circumstances. So, we shouldn’t go much into that. But yes, everyone who enters in any industry, they should put this in mind that life exists outside our work. Don’t search for life in your career. Life exists within our family, friends and loved ones. Also, we should take care of our health including our mental health. There are medicines and therapies for mental health and we should take help of it.”
He also added, “Judgements should stop and I really hate it. There would be judgements but it shouldn’t be impactful on you. In the end, you have to live and survive. Mental health or stress shouldn’t be treated as a stigma.”
