John Abraham is a hardworking actor. But inspite of giving his 100% in his movies, he isn’t longing for any award and does not believe in award functions at all.
The actor, in his recent interview, said how he can never be a part of award functions. Says the actor, “I never go for awards functions. I don’t want any awards. They’ve become a joke. I don’t think going to awards is wrong. But I can’t do it.”
John also thinks that performing in these functions is a monkey act for him. “Performing at these awards would make me feel like a performing monkey. I can’t dance on stage for 500 people. I can’t dance at functions. I’ve heard how people talk about actors who perform on stage. To me it is a monkey act,” adds the ‘Dishoom’ star.
John and Varun Dhawan may share a great camaraderie, but the two have a totally different thought process when it comes to awards. John claims, “If ‘Dishoom’ wins any awards, Varun will be there dancing and clapping. I won’t. He is a sweet transparent boy. Maybe I don’t deserve awards. So I won’t get them. And I won’t go.”
Lastly, John says how he doesn’t care about what his contemporaries are doing and only concentrates on his own work. “I’ve no fear of failure. I’m like a blinkered horse. I don’t look at the work other people are doing. I concentrate on my own work. I don’t go for parties. I sleep by 9.30 pm. I meet some of my from my friends from the film industry when they are coming home after a party and I am on my morning jog. The beauty of this industry is acceptance,” he concludes.
