John Abraham is gearing for the release of his upcoming film ‘Satyameva Jayate’. The actor has also confirmed that he will next be seen in the sequel of Aamir Khan’s ‘Sarfarosh’ the movie that had transformed Aamir’s chocolate boy image. John added that though it will be a challenging role he is geared up for the action-drama, which will be different from the original.
In an interview with PTI, Abraham says, “John Mathew Matthan and I are co-producing the film. We are still working on the script but yes it’s happening with me. We plan to go on floors next year. He is probably the only director whose house I went to after seeing ‘Sarfarosh’ and said ‘Man what a film’.”
He further added that “I’m in fact very excited. I love Aamir Khan, I’m his big fan. It’s a challenge but it’s a different character, different story but the ethos is the same. It’s going to be very exciting.”
John has his kitty full of some challenging roles, first in the lineup is ‘Satyamev Jayate’ that also stars Manoj Bajpayee and will be clashing with Akshay Kumar’s sports drama ‘Gold’, as both are releasing on August 15. Next on the pipeline is ‘Batla House’ and ‘RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter’. In ‘RAW’ John will be sporting 18 different looks.
Aamir Khan’s ‘Sarfarosh’ chronicled the story of an Indian police officer’s quest to stop cross-border terrorism. The movie that was directed by John Matthew Matthan also featured Naseeruddin Shah and Sonali Bendre. It also went on to win the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
