The torrential rainfall in Kerela has left 37 people dead during the last five days. According to the preliminary assessment by the state government, the state has suffered a loss of Rs 8,316 crore. South stars like Kamal Haasan and others generously donated to the CM’s relief fund. Now actor John Abraham too asked his fans to donate to the Chief Minister’s fund to help the flood-hit people.
Actor John Abraham says he is extremely disturbed by what is happening in Kerala, where heavy rains have led to flooding of several districts.
The ‘Parmanu’ star who has the fondest childhood memories of Kerala wrote, “Extremely disturbed by what is happening in Kerala. My fondest childhood memories have been there. Please come forward and donate to the chief minister’s fund.”
With rains still pouring down heavily leading to flooding of dams and rivers across Kerala, 12 fresh deaths were reported on Thursday, taking the toll to 79, since August 8. The entire state is on a red alert. Pathanamthitta district in central Kerala has been the worst affected in the last 24 hours as thousands of people were trapped in their homes in Ranni, Aranmula and Kozhencherry.
Fishing boats from Kollam reached the flooded areas as the rescue operation continued with the aid of defence personnel.
On the work front, John Abraham has been garnering positive reviews for his last film ‘Parmanu’ that is based on the Pokhran tests conducted by the Indian army. His recent flick ‘Satyemeva Jayate’ has released in theaters on Independence Day. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and Nikkhil Advani of Emmay Entertainment. It also features versatile actor Manoj Bajpayee and Neha Sharma’s sister Aisha Sharma. It is garnering a positive response from the viewers.
