Valentine’s Day 2025 marked a significant moment for Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee, as they tied the knot after a few years of dating. However, their wedding was met with some family tension, particularly after Prateik’s half-brother, Aarya Babbar, revealed that the Babbars were not invited to the ceremony. Aarya expressed his pain over the situation, and now, Prateik’s half-sister, Juuhi Babbar Soni, has shared her perspective on the matter.

Speaking to The Times of India, Juuhi responded to Aarya’s emotional remarks. Aarya had admitted feeling hurt by the exclusion, stating, “Prateik, my little brother, is getting married, and yet, as a family, we, the Babbars, haven’t been invited. It’s heartbreaking and deeply painful for all of us. I don’t understand why he has chosen to distance himself from our side of the family, especially when we believed we had worked so hard to mend and strengthen our bond. Perhaps we didn’t do enough.”
Juhi acknowledged the hurt and said she understood Aarya’s feelings but added that no matter the circumstances, Prateik would always be her brother, and they were children of Raj Babbar. “Nothing can change that fact,” she stated.
Juuhi calls Priya Banerjee a wonderful girl
She went on to address the influence of certain individuals on Prateik’s decisions. Juhi explained, “Right now, he is surrounded by a few people—whom we don’t wish to name—who have influenced him. But we don’t want to sandwich him in the middle because that won’t help anyone.” She clarified that her comments were not about Prateik being caught between his family and his new wife, Priya Banerjee, who Juhi described as ‘wonderful’. Juhi expressed that Prateik was fortunate to have found Priya and emphasised that the issue lay elsewhere.
“The real sandwiching is happening because of someone else—someone desperate for publicity and importance,” Juhi said. She pointed out that certain individuals may have feared that Prateik’s siblings and father would attract attention at the wedding, leading to their decision to exclude them. Juhi reassured that the family’s only wish was for Prateik to be happy and at peace.
Reflecting on the family’s past, Juhi noted that there had been no issues from their side. She fondly recalled dancing at Prateik’s first wedding and pointed out that their father had been there to support him when that marriage ended. “When Prateik’s first marriage ended, our father stood beside him and helped him,” she remembered.
Juhi remained understanding of her brother’s situation, adding, “Right now, maybe he is processing things in his own way, woh khud ko khoj raha hai zara sa (he’s searching himself a little).” She expressed her belief that the family would have many more opportunities to celebrate together in the future, stating, “For now, we are letting it pass.”
On February 14, Prateik and Priya made their first public appearance as a married couple, donning matching ivory outfits and sharing affectionate moments with the paparazzi.
