Kajol steps into Anjali’s shoes to celebrate 25 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Karan Johar thanks fans for their ‘unending love’

Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Kajol starrer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai clocks 25 years of its release. The day is special for KKHH fans. Even after so many years, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is remembered by fans for multiple reasons. Be it SRK-Kajol’s friendship to SRK-Rani’s romance, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai remains iconic till date. Given that the day is special, Kajol and Karan Johar took to their respective social media handles to celebrate Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Kajol celebrates 25 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Kajol, who played the role of Anjali Sharma in KKHH, stepped into her character’s shoes. Just like her character Anjali, Kajol wore a black tracksuit and a cap. The actress flashed a cute smile in the photos. In her caption, Kajol thanked KJo as she looked back on the journey. She captioned her post saying, “Stepping back into Anjali’s shoes after 25 years (couldn’t find the basketball though) So many memories and love attached to this film. So glad that everyone loves it as much as I do.”

She added, “A first for @karanjohar and a beginning to an amazing journey for @dharmamovies… Fabulous music that still resonates, even today… #kkhh is and always will be a labour of love.”

Apart from Kajol, the Karan Johar directorial Kuch Kuch Hota Hai also starred SRK, Rani and Salman Khan. Shah Rukh Khan played the iconic Rahul Khanna whereas Rani won hearts as Tina Malhotra. Salman, who was also a part of the film, played the role of Aman Mehra.

Karan also shared a special post on his Instagram. For the unversed, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai marked KJo’s directorial debut. Even after 25 years, Karan is ruling the industry. KJo shared a video comprising of KKHH’s special moments and wrote in the caption, “25 years ago is where it all began… and here we are today celebrating not just a film but an EMOTION for me and from all the love we get for it, I gather it is for everyone too.”

KJo further thanked fans for all their love. The filmmaker added, “Thank you for showering unending love for this tale of pyaar & dosti till today and thank you for making my journey as a filmmaker for 25 years with such warmth. I will eternally be grateful to the people I am fortunate to work with, to the people I meet who watch my films and to the magic of MOVIES #25YearsOfKuchKuchHotaHai#KKHH.”

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released on 16^th October, 1998.

Karan’s latest directorial film is Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. Coming back to Kajol, she was seen as a lawyer in The Trial: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha. The actress will be next seen in Do Patti with Kriti Sanon.
