It won’t be wrong to say that Kajol is indeed a chameleon as an actress. No matter which role she is given, she becomes that character. 25 years ago, she did it in double the amount as she played a double role in the thriller Dushman. On Monday, Kajol penned a heartfelt note as she celebrated 25 years of Dushman.
Kajol celebrates 25 years of Dushman
The 1998 film Dushman featured Kajol in the role twin sisters alongside Sanjay Dutt and Ashutosh Rana. It was directed by Tanuja Chandra and produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt. It was a remake of the Hollywood film Eye for an eye.
Celebrating the 25 years of Dushman, the actress penned a beautiful note, complimenting Ashutosh and thanking her director and producers. She wrote, “#25years to Dushman. One of the scariest films I have ever said yes to or even watched for that matter. @ashutosh_ramnarayan scared the crap out of me on screen and I’m sure out of all of you guys as well. And a big thanks till today to @poojab1972 and @tanuja__chandra for making me so comfortable with such an uncomfortable topic. It is still such an uncomfortable film for me to watch! #WomenRock #StillWorking #SanjayDutt #FabFilm #25YearsOfDushman (sic)”.

Dushman was a critical and commercial success at the time of its release. It even bagged several awards for Ashutosh for his villainous act. The film also marked Tanuja’s debut as a director. It depicted the story of twin sisters Sonia and Naina. A serial rapist and murderer Gokul, played by Rana, rapes and murders Sonia but is aquitted because of a false testimony. Naina then embarks on a journey to avenge her sister’s death. Till date, it remains Kajol as well as Rana’s one of the finest performances.
