Karan Johar‘s love for everything larger than life is a well-known fact. The director made his life’s first-period drama ‘Kalank’ which was helmed by Abhishek Varman. The multi-starrer film boasting an ensemble cast of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit, hit the silver screens yesterday. The film though became the highest opener of this year so far, but it received mixed reviews from the critics. While some critics are praising the film, others are bashing it left, right and center.
Naturally, the meme world too has received its fodder as ‘Kalank’ has become its latest obsession. Here we bring you some of the most hilarious memes shared by the netizens. Have a look

‘Kalank’ is a period drama set against the backdrop of India-Pakistan partition. It showcases the turmoils of love and relationship. Alia is playing Roop in the film, who gets married to Dev (Aditya Roy Kapur) against her wishes. Roop falls in love with Zafar(Varun Dhawan) who is a blacksmith. Then unfolds the story of two star-crossed lovers.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, ‘Kalank’ is going strong at the box office. Let’s see for how long the film continues to mint money.
Till then stay tuned for more such interesting updates.
