Director Abhishek Varman is all set to enthral the audience with his multi-starrer ‘Kalank‘. The period film set in the 1940s has been making us curious ever since it was announced. Yesterday, the makers treated us with the looks of the film’s male cast comprising of Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. All three of them looked fierce and full of angst.
Today, on the occasion of Women’s Day, film’s producer Karan Johar unveiled the first look of Alia Bhatt. The filmmaker introduced her as Roop. Describing her character, KJo wrote, “To love her is to love fire”. We all were extremely excited to see Alia’s first look and now that it has been revealed, her look instantly reminded us of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan‘s look as Rajkumari Jodhaa Bai in ‘Jodhaa Akbar’. And not just that, Alia as Roop also reminded us of Deepika Padukone as Rajput queen Padmavati in ‘Padmaavat’.
You can check out their looks below and decide for yourself if you agree with us or not
All three actresses can be seen wearing embroidered clothing and sporting gold jewellery. The gold nath wore by all three of them is also a common part of their appearance. The long veil sported by Alia and Ash is also extremely similar. In short, we can say that Alia’s look seems to be an amalgamation of Ash and Deepika’s look from ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ and ‘Padmaavat’.
Produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Studios, ‘Kalank’ is scheduled to hit the silver screens on April 19.
