‘Kalank’ To Bring Madhuri Dixit And Sanjay Dutt Together

Many early reports suggested the collaboration of Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt for an untitled film. And now finally, the makers of their upcoming film have put a full stop to all the speculations. The duo is all set to star in ‘Kalank’ that will have an ensemble cast of  Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. The makers made this big announcement with the first poster of the film.

‘Kalank’ an epic drama starring an ensemble cast is slated to release on 19th April 2019. Talking about the film, Karan told The Indian Express, “Kalank has been an emotional journey for me. It is a gem of an idea that I had nearly 15 years ago and a film that was in a pre-production stage helmed by my father. I am now proud to pass it onto the extremely capable and visionary hands of director Abhishek Varman. Kalank has a beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija and an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek.”

The film is set in the 1940s which was incepted by Karan Johar and his late father Yash Johar 15 years ago which will now turn into a reality. ‘Kalank’ will be directed by Abhishek Varman who earlier helmed Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor’s ‘Two States’.

‘Kalank’ also marks the collaboration of three big producers of the time, Dharma Productions, Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Well, what more would you have asked for?

It has been reported that ‘Kalank’ will go on floors by the end of April, for now, we can only await this blockbuster.
