‘Kalank’: Karan Johar introduces Aditya Roy Kapoor as a “virtuous heart with an uncorrupted mind”

‘Kalank’ has been in the spotlight for a while now and is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Directed by Abhishek Varman, the period drama stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in pivotal roles. The film, which is bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, is slated to release on April 19 this year.

On Wednesday, producer Karan Johar shared the first glimpse of ‘Kalank’. He took to Instagram to share the picture and asked fans to stay tuned for more on Thursday.

Karan Johar did not keep the fans waiting for too long as he unveiled the first look poster of Varun Dhawan’s character Zafar. Varun Dhawan looks menacing as Zafar. Karan Johar describes Zafar as a ‘man with a fearless heart’. Take a look:

Hours after, Karan Johar dropped another poster from his forthcoming production venture ‘Kalank’. In the second poster, the producer introduced Aditya Roy Kapoor as Dev Chaudhry. He wrote, “A virtuous heart with an uncorrupted mind. Presenting Dev Chaudhry.” Take a look:

Interestingly, the film is based against the backdrop of Hindu-Muslim riots that took place during the India-Pakistan partition in the 1940s.
