Actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene is excited to start working on Karan Johar-produced ‘Kalank’. She will start shooting for the film on Friday. The movie is Karan Johar’s father’s dream project and the filmmaker is leaving no stone upturned to make it a magnum opus.
Speaking to IANS Madhuri said, “I am excited to start the shoot for ‘Kalank’ today. It’s my second association with Karan Johar after ‘Bucket List’ and it’s been a lovely journey so far. Can’t wait to begin this one.”
The period drama brings Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur together on the big screen. Karan Johar has recreated Delhi from 1940s in a studio in the city and has spent close to Rs. 15 crores for it. Recently, Varun Dhawan wrapped up the shoot of a song with Kiara Advani for the film. It is now being reported that Alia Bhatt and Madhuri will be be doing a special dance number too.
As per sources, “Madhuri and Alia will be doing a special dance number in ‘Kalank’ together. It will be as exciting as Madhuri and Ranbirs Ghagra song in which the two starred together for the first time.”
Set in the 1940s, Kalank is a film on partition. It is set to hit the screens on April 19, 2019.
On the work front, Madhuri wil next be seen in Indra Kumar’s ‘Total Dhamaal’ opposite Anil Kapoor. She is also busy with her maiden Marathi film ‘Bucket List’ and also her first production ’15th August’.
