Kalank Mid Ticket Review

The first half of ‘Kalank’ is a deftly executed tragic story. It lights up only when Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt appear onscreen together. Those are the few minutes of comic relief.

Otherwise, it is a well written story with every character coming alive even if they are part of just a few scenes. Some visuals stand out like Roop’s room in the Chaudhary palace or Zafar’s fight with a bull in a Colosseum.

While the main cast does well, even special appearances like those of Kunal Kemmu and Kiara Advani manage to leave an impression. Aditya Roy Kapur’s Dev as a geeky newspaper editor hits the sweet spot too. All in all, we are really looking forward to the second half.
