Recently, actress Kalki Koechlin grabbed limelight for posting a nude picture of herself on social media. In the picture, her bare back was visible and the black-and-white effect and the way the picture was clicked, lent it an artistic feel. Sharing the picture on Instagram, she wrote, “Half way between shadow and light by @rivabubber #blackandwhite #loveyournakedness.” [sic] And as one would have anticipated, the picture instantly went viral and people started commenting. Some praised it, while the others mocked it (expected).

However, the actress is least perturbed by the trolling and negativity that comes along with being a part of social media. Speaking to Mid-day about the viral nude picture, Kalki said, “As women, we often are depicted through a man’s perspective, but this picture was clicked by a woman photographer. That’s why I found it significant to share the photograph. I think it’s important to celebrate who you are and your body rather than ponder about what the world will think. I have always believed in the idea of wearing your personality on your sleeve. I have never been ashamed of whatever I do.” (Also Read: Kalki’s nude picture asking to #loveyournakedness looks like a work of art)

She further spoke about her limited screen outings by saying, “There’s a perception that I am choosy, but I actually say yes to most scripts that come my way, provided my role adds to the story. People feel I don’t do mainstream cinema. But frankly, I haven’t been offered any good commercial film that has caught my interest, or one I feel is important enough for me to invest my time.”

On the work front, the actress will next be seen in a movie titled ‘Jia Aur Jia’ which is directed by Howard Rosemeyer and also features actress Richa Chadha. It is slated to release this winter.
