Kalki Koechlin on her pregnancy: This was unexpected and in the first two months, I didn’t feel any maternal instinct

Kalki Koechlin is in the final trimester of her pregnancy. The actress had announced a few months ago that she is expecting her first child. It was very unexpected news for her fans and also for Kalki. In a recent interview, Kalki revealed that maternal instincts did not kick in until three months.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Kalki said, “This was an unexpected pregnancy. In the first two months, I didn’t feel any maternal instinct. It felt like an alien invasion, where this little thing was acting like a vampire, sucking out everything from my body,” Koechlin added that everything changed after she heard her child’s heartbeat. “When I heard the heartbeat for the first time, I got excited. The first trimester was bad, but I am through that phase and looking forward to the due date in January,” she added.

Talking about her partner Guy Hershberg who is an Israeli pianist she said he has always been supportive and is equally involved.

When asked if the pregnancy made her want to think about marriage she said, “We are not averse to marriage, but we don’t want to rush into it just because I am pregnant. If it is necessary for the documentation, bureaucracy and school registrations of our child, we will consider it. But when it comes to our romantic commitments, we have enough validation from each other, and our families, too.”
