Kamal Haasan opens up on his separation from long-time girlfriend Gautami

It was just yesterday that Tamil actress Gautami announced her split with her live-in partner of 13 years, superstar Kamal Haasan. She spoke about the breakup in her blog titled ‘Life and Decisions’.

Now, actor Kamal Haasan has spoken about it while interacting with a popular daily. He said, “Whatever gives her comfort and solace is fine by me. My feelings at the moment are of no importance. What matters is that Gautami and Subbu should be comfortable and happy. I wish them all the best and want them to know I am there for them whenever they need me. I am blessed with three daughters — Shruti, Akshara and Subbulakshmi. I consider myself the luckiest father in the world.”

In fact, in one of his earlier interviews he had called Gautami quite mature and progressive as she never forced him into marriage.

Gautami also spoke to a Tamil channel, “The decision was a process taken over time. We aren’t small children. Things change with time. If it doesn’t work out, you have to accept it finally.” She said that Kamal Haasan took the breakup in a “matured and sympathetic manner.”

Well, it looks like the breakup was by mutual consent and the two have parted ways amicably.
