Kamal Haasan on ‘Padmavati’ row: I want Deepika’s head… saved

We all know that some fringe groups have been threatening to behead Deepika Padukone who plays the lead role in ‘Padmavati’. A member of a political party is also ready to give a bounty of Rs 10 crore for the person who would behead Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika.

The film and the actors are getting a lot of support from the industry, and recently even Kamal Haasan tweeted about it. However, what we loved about the actor is that more than the film, he is concerned about Deepika.

Haasan tweeted, “I wantMs.Deepika’s head.. saved. Respect it more than her body.Even more her freedom. Do not deny her that.Many communities have apposed my films.Extremism in any debate is deplorable. Wake up cerebral India.Time to think. We’ve said enough. Listen Ma Bharat.” (sic)

‘Padmavati’, which was slated to hit the screens on December 1, 2017, has been postponed. The makers have not yet announced the new release date of the film. Apart from Deepika, the movie also stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. While the former plays the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh, the latter will be seen as Sultan Alauddin Khilji.
