Kangana Ranaut’s bodyguard Kumar Hegde booked in alleged rape and cheating case

Mumbai police has filed a case against a man named Kumar Hegde under Sections 376 and 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). While the police are yet to ascertain the accused’s identity, a section of media reports are claiming that Hegde is Kangana’s personal bodyguard.

Commenting on the case, Senior Police Inspector Bharat Gaikwad of DN Nagar Police Station told IANS, “A case has been registered against a man named Kumar Hegde under sections 376 and 377 IPC. Prima facie, they had a live-in relationship and a break-up.”

When asked if Hegde is Kangana’s bodyguard, Gaikwad responded, “Police ko pata nahin woh kya kaam karta hai (the police is not aware of what work he (Hegde) does).” The victim has claimed that Hegde raped her on the pretext of marriage. She has also accused him of fleeing after taking Rs 50,000 from her flat.

A report in Peeping Moon referred to Hegde as Kangana’s bodyguard. The same report also stated that the victim came in contact with Hegde eight years ago and he proposed her marriage last year. The accused then started forcibly established a physical relationship with the victim on multiple occasions. Apparently, the accused’s mother even threatened the victim against forcing his son for marriage.

An FIR has been registered against Hegde under IPC sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex) and 420 (cheating). The matter is currently under investigation. And Kangana is yet to react to these reports.
