Kangana Ranaut hits back at Jaya Bachchan’s ‘thali’ remark; says, “I taught the industry feminism, decorated the thali with patriotic films”

Kangana Ranaut has been criticising Samajwadi Party MP and actress Jaya Bachchan for her recent remarks in Parliament. Jaya said, “Just because there are some people, you can’t tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame. Jis thali main khate hain, usmein chhed karte hain. Galat baat hain. The industry needs support and protection from the government.”

Taking to Twitter handle, Kangana has shot barbs at Jaya for her ‘thali’ remark. She wrote in Hindi, “What thali has Jaya ji and her industry has given? The one that was offered was to appear in a two-minute role, a romantic scene, item numbers and that too after sleeping with the hero? I taught the industry feminism, decorated the thali with patriotic films, this is my own plate Jaya ji, not yours.”

Earlier, Kangana had called the film industry a ‘gutter’ and claimed that 99% of the people in Bollywood consume drugs.

Jaya in her speech also said, “People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language.”
