Kangana Ranaut’s next directorial to NOT be her biopic but an action drama – Deets inside

‘Queen’ actress Kangana Ranaut made her directorial debut with the epic biographical period drama ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. She co-directed the film alongwith Krish. The film went on to enter the coveted 100 crore club and soon after that, Kangana had expressed her desire to direct more films.

In fact, the actress had even said that she will be directing her own biopic. But looks like the ‘Panga‘ actress has taken up another project as her next directorial.

Yes, Kangana recently revealed the details of her next directorial. Talking about her film, the actress told DNA, “I’m on the verge of announcing my next directorial venture. It’s an action film — an epic drama. It has taken a lot of my time. Currently, we are putting everything in order, but we have locked the script. We’ll be doing a photoshoot, soon after.”

The actress feels that the success of her last film has helped her secure a big budget for her next directorial.“There are a lot of great stories to be told and actresses today are bringing a lot of business, too. I’m happy with the way ‘Manikarnika’ worked for me — as an actor and also as a director. Now is the right time to start work on my second directorial project,” she added.

Interestingly, on her birthday on March 23, Kangana had announced that she will be starring in the former Tamil Nadu CM and veteran actress Jayalalitha’s biopic. Kanaga recently wrapped the Delhi schedule of Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s ‘Panga’ and she also has ‘Mental Hai Kya’ in her kitty. With so many big projects lined up, we wonder how she is going to make time for her next directorial.
