Speaking about her character in the film, Kangana Ranaut told Deccan Chronicle, “I feel a sense of immense pride to present the larger-than-life story of ‘Manikarnika’, which I’m sure will inspire and entertain cinegoers. A symbol of heroism and humanity, this is our tribute to one of India’s greatest freedom fighters.”

Meanwhile, speaking about the film, the teaser of ‘Manikarnika’ will be released on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti i.e October 2nd. The film was earlier directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and later Kangana Ranaut stepped into the director’s shoes. The film is set to be released next year in January.
