Kangana Ranaut has proved time and again that she is an actress par excellence. Post the debacle of her last few releases like ‘Rangoon’ and ‘Simran’, the actress is now gearing up for her upcoming epic biographical project ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. Many would remember that the actress had revealed that post wrapping up the work on this current project of hers (‘Manikarnika’), she is willing to take the next step in Bollywood, by going behind the camera, as a director.

But, certainly this dream of Kangana will now take a little more time to be fulfilled. The reason behind this is that the actress has decided on putting her directorial debut project on hold and feels it’s best for her to focus on acting for now. Recently, she gave an interview to Mumbai Mirror where she opened up on this. The actress admitted that her recent box office reversals have made it difficult to put the directorial project together. She said, “I don’t have my own production house, so I have to wait for my films to work to earn the confidence of the producers. For now, it’s best to focus on acting. I can’t sit back and wait, I have to grab every opportunity because from these opportunities, my directorial dream will be reborn.”

Reportedly, her directorial debut project was titled ‘Teju’ in which she was to play an 80-year-old.
