Earlier, there were reports that Shri Rajput Karni Sena opposed Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Manikarnika’ as they claimed that the movie shows Rani Laxmibai dancing to a special number. They also asked the makers to show them the movie before its release. Also, they said they would ruin her career prospects and burn her film sets. Kangana then reacted to the statement saying that she will destroy them. During an event, when she was asked that Karni Sena wants her to say ‘sorry’ for her bold statement, she said that she wouldn’t say sorry for what she has not done.
The ‘Queen’ actress said, “Main kisi se maafi nahi mangungi. Maafi mai kisi cheez ke liye nahi maangti, jismein meri koi galti nahi hain. Lekin humne unhe (Karni Sena) aaswashan diya hain ki usmein (‘Manikarnika’) kuch bhi aisa galat nahi hain aur unhe humara sahyog dena chahiye. Woh (Rani Laxmibai) humari beti hain aur sabko milke film ko aage badhana chahiye. Woh meri koi rishtedaar nahi hain. Wo mere liye wahi hain jo poore desh ke liye hain.” (No, I will not apologise to anyone. I never apologise for things that I have not done. We have assured Karni Sena that ‘Manikarnika’ doesn’t show anything offensive. They should support us and the film. She (Rani Lakshmibai) is India’s daughter and everyone should push that film forward. She is not a relative of mine. She is to me what she is for the entire nation).
“Ye faltu ka ego issue mere sath karne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Main yahan pe kisi ko sorry-worry kehne ke liye nahi hu,” (There is no need for useless ego issues with me. I am not here to apologise to anyone) she added.
Kangana has always voiced her opinion and has taken a stand on what she feels right. ‘Manikarnika’ is slated to release on January 25.
