A case was filed against the ‘Queen’ actress in Bandra Police station in October by casting director and fitness trainer Munnawar Ali Sayyed. He had accused the actress of making “hateful” and “derogatory” statements against a particular community via her social media posts.
The case was filed against Ranaut sisters under Section 124 A (sedition), 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) and 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings by insulting its religion) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Previously, Mumbai police had summoned Kangana on 26- 27th October and then on November 10. Apparently, Kangana had informed the police that she will be busy with her brother Aksht’s wedding and that she will be available after November 15. Aksht got married on November 12.
According to a PTI report, the FIR states that the Ranaut sisters tried to “malign the Indian Constitution and image of the Maharashtra government, hurt sentiments of Muslims and tried to create division between Hindus and Muslims,” through their posts on Twitter.
