Kangana Ranaut opens up about alcohol, drugs songs
During her session at Agenda Aaj Tak 2024, Kangana shared her views on songs about drugs, alcohol and violence. Speaking about it, she said, “Artistic expression is not dependent on anything. Himachal folk music has so many such songs. In art, it’s the emotions that matter. To each their own. That being said, when it comes to habits like substance abuse, it is not just the government’s responsibility but also that of the general public.”
Diljit Dosanjh’s concert controversy
Diljit Dosanjh made headlines after the Telangana government issued a legal notice instructing him not to perform songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence during his concert in Hyderabad. This notice was delivered just hours before his performance on Friday, with specific songs like “Patiala Pegg” and “Panchatara” cited in the complaint.
Earlier, Diljit Dosanjh had declared that he would stop singing any songs on alcohol during his concert in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He said, “Today, I won’t sing those songs either. It’s simple for me to adjust my lyrics. Main khud sharab nahi peete (I don’t drink alcohol). It’s easy for me. But Bollywood artists promote alcohol ads—Diljit Dosanjh doesn’t. Don’t provoke me. I quietly do my shows and leave. Why are you bothering me?”
On the work front, Kangana Ranaut will next be seen in Emergency. The film is slated for a theatrical release in January.
