From clashing with ‘Thackeray’ on box office to Karni Sena row, Kangana Ranaut’s much-awaited ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ has been talk of the town. The film, which is based on the valour and sacrifice of Rani Laxmibai and how she fought against the British empire, has also received rave reviews from all the quarters.
‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ was finally released on Friday and has done decent business at the box office on Day 1. The film managed to earn Rs. 8.75 crore. The film was directed by Krish and Kangana Ranaut and the screenplay was written by KV Vijayendra Prasad. Apart from Kangana, the movie also stars Ankita Lokhande, Danny Dengzongpa, Atul Kulkarni, Suresh Oberoi among others in key roles.
Recently, in an exclusive interview with Times Now, Kangana has expressed hope of her film doing sound business at the box office. The actress said, “We should definitely make money. I mean, there is no doubt about it. It’s business and nobody should lose money and I really hope we do great business. But you know, that’s not in my mind. There are people who are specifically for it. Like my producer who just came and said ten things in my ear. These are the hardcore money people who are constantly tracking and telling me what’s gone up what’s going down. So there are people who are doing that so I don’t need to do it.”
However, there is a piece of sad news for Kangana as her film ‘Manikarnika’ is leaked. Yes, you heard it right. The notorious piracy site Tamil Rockers has leaked the film online.
It is to be noted that Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer ‘Thackeray’ which also got released on Friday got leaked on the same site. The site has also recently uploaded Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ despite getting warnings from the court. Also, the films like ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, ‘Petta’ and ‘Viswasam’ among others were also leaked by Tamil Rockers.
