Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar had made quite the controversial statement this Friday as he passed a comment about Virat Kohli’s game that he said was ruined because of his wife Anushka Sharma. He had apparently said, “Inhone lockdown me to bas Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki hai.” Kangana Ranaut came out in support of Anushka but called her out for her ‘selective feminism’.
Kangana took to her Twitter account and showed her support for Anushka yet showed disdain for the actress not speaking up when Kangana was going through a tough phase. Kangana wrote, “#Anushka remained quiet when I was threatened and called Haramkhor but today the same misogyny coming to bite her, I condemn the fact that she was dragged in to cricket by #SunilGavaskar but selective feminism is equally uncool.”
Further bashing Sunil for his ‘perverted’ comment, she wrote, “Only a sex starved pervert will find sexual context to #SunilGavaskar’s statement which he made on national television for a woman, he should’ve not mentioned her, but Anushka is playing a cricketer in her next and there are several videos of her practising with her husband.”

Meanwhile, reacting to Gavaskar’s comment, Anushka had called it distasteful, she wrote on her Instagram account, “That, Mr Gavaskar, your message is distasteful is a fact but I would love for you to explain why you thought of making such a sweeping statement on a wife accusing her of her husband’s game?” She concluded, “Its 2020 and things still don’t change for me. When will I stop getting dragged into cricket and stop being used to pass sweeping statements? (sic).”
