Even though her last film ‘Simran’ may have tanked at the box office, it has not brought dearth to the number of films Kangana Ranaut is being offered. She already has big-budgeted period-drama ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’ in her kitty and now, we have learnt that she has been offered a mystery thriller wherein she would be essaying a character that has grey shades.
Though we were expecting that Kangana would begin with her directorial debut film ‘Teju’ post ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’, but apparently she would pick the thriller project first. A report in Mid-Day has quoted the producer Shailesh R Singh saying, “Kangana has not done a mystery thriller so far. That’s why we wanted to bring her on board. We’re currently in talks with her. ‘Teju’ will require about six to eight months of prep before it goes on floors. So, we want to shoot the thriller in the meantime.” Shailesh Singh was one of the producers of ‘Simran’.”
Further a source confirms that Kangana has loved the script and is likely to pick the project. “Kangana’s role is nuanced and powerful. She loved the script as she felt it will give her a chance to showcase her acting skills again,” said the source.
Shailesh R Singh, Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor are said to be the producers of this film. Talking about the male leads, makers are contemplating on roping in Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana for the film, as per the source. Going by all of this, the project seems interesting. Let’s wait for more updates on the same.
