The year 2020, opened on a great note for screenwriters Kanika Dhillon and Himanshu Sharma. The adorable couple tied the knot at the beginning of the year in an intimate wedding. Kanika shared some beautiful pictures of her wedding on her Instagram handle. They looked beautiful together.
Kanika and Himanshu had announced their engagement on December 14 while they took the plunge on January 4. Kanika recently opened up on what made them have a hush-hush wedding so soon.
The ‘Kedarnath’ writer said that both she and Himanshu are soaked in work commitments so when they had some time off from work they decided to get married right away in the presence of their families.
Speaking to Times of India about her impromptu wedding, Kanika shared, “Himanshu had just wrapped up ‘Atrangi Re’. Our families were here with us at that time. We thought we may not get a better opportunity to bring everyone who matters to us together so easily. So, we decided to get married in their presence and with their blessings. Even the engagement had happened in a similar fashion because both of us are swamped with work, and in the present times, it’s very difficult to have everyone around us at the same time. Covid 19 is still here. The pandemic is still not over, and so the wedding had to be quick, and somewhat, impromptu.”

The newlyweds will be moving in together to their new house very soon. The couple dated for over a year before deciding to take their relationship to the next level. Revealing the kind of partner Himanshu is, Kanika told the daily, “It’s a complete win-win to have someone so inspiring as a life-partner. There’s never a dull moment between us. Himanshu and I are never at a loss of words which makes things very exciting. Himanshu, as a companion, is the kind of person who will only help you blossom as a person and as a professional. We do end up discussing work when one of us is stuck somewhere. He has set a high benchmark as a companion. The qualities he has can rarely be found in one person.”

Well, we hope someday these two lovebirds should write a love story based on their real-life story. It would make for a great film. Don’t you guys agree?
