Singer Kanika Kapoor confirms she has tested positive for Coronavirus; urges fans to practice self-isolation

Renowned singer Kanika Kapoor is infected with the novel coronavirus and this news has been confirmed by the singer herself. She took to her Instagram handle to share a picture of her and wrote, “For the past 4 days I have had signs of flu, I got myself tested and it came positive for Covid-19. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. Contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway as well.”

She further wrote that she was scanned at the airport as per normal procedure 10 days ago and when she came back home, the symptoms have developed only 4 days ago.

She also wrote, “At this stage I would like to urge you all to practice self isolation and get tested if you have the signs. I am feeling ok, like a normal flu and a mild fever, however we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us. We can get through this without panic only if we listen to the experts and our local, state and central government directives.”(sic)

Kanika is the first Bollywood celeb to get infected by the virus. We wish for the speedy recovery of the singer. As per reports that are doing rounds, Kanika had returned from the United Kingdom on Sunday and had hidden her travel history from the authorities. She stayed in a 5-star hotel and attended a party with at least 100 people.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has announced that from this midnight, workplaces will remain closed till March 31.
