Kapil Dev reveals his family’s reaction to Deepika Padukone as Romi Bhatia in 83

Ranveer Singh starrer sports drama 83 trailer was just released and the fans are already pumped up for the release. Also starring in 83 is Deepika Padukone who is seen as Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia. Kapil Dev recently revealed his family’s reaction to seeing Deepika as Romi Bhatia and it seems like the actress has got mixed reactions.

Ranveer Singh and his wife Deepika Padukone will be seen sharing screen space after three long years. They were last seen in the movie Padmaavat. The fans were excited to see DeepVeer together but Deepika’s new character has got a divided response.

Kapil Dev told The Quint, “I think mixed because I don’t know how much the role of my wife is in 83, so one does not realise that what they are trying to do there.”

Meanwhile, talking about Kapil and his family, Ranveer Singh had earlier told Hindustan Times, “Kapil sir and his family are very warm, kind and generous people. I’ll be ever grateful to them for being so magnanimous in helping me during this unique character study. Their large-heartedness was touching… something I’ll never forget. They’ve blessed me.”

83 is a sports drama based on the 1983 Cricket World Cup which was bagged by the Indian team and leading them was Kapil Dev. Ranveer will be seen as Kapil Dev and the movie will also star Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jatin Sarna, Saqib Saleem, Dhairya Karwa, Jiiva, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Sahil Khattar, Chirag Patil, Adinath Kothare, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya.
