Kapil Sharma REVEALS Nandita Das told him she ‘won’t even cast Shah Rukh Khan’ for Zwigato, here’s why

Kapil Sharma is known worldwide for his comedy and wit, but with his next film, Zwigato, he is ready to reinvent that. The comedian-cum-actor is all set to star in the intense drama directed by Nandita Das. And during the Zwigato trailer launch on Wednesday, Kapil Sharma revealed some secrets.

On Wednesday, Kapil, his co-star Shahana Goswami and Nandita launched the trailer of Zwigato amidst the media. The film follows the story of a food delivery man whose life revolves around his family and work. His struggle to earn more while also dealing with the repercussions of the rating system, forms for a heart-wrenching story. The film is produced by Applause Entertainment and Nandita Das Initiatives. It will release theatrically on March 17, 2023.

Kapil Sharma on Nandita casting him in Zwigato

While the story of the film is a quite serious one, Kapil brought his signature humour during the press conference. When asked about him coming on board, considering he is a comedian and the film is intense, he shared an interesting anecdote.

Kapil revealed that his director once told him that she ‘won’t even take Shah Rukh Khan’ over him for Zwigato. The reason behind it made everyone laugh. He shared, “Unhone bola because Kapil tumhara chehra aam aadmi jaisa lagta hai. Tum kahin ke bhi lagte ho. (She said it is because I have a very common man face. I can look like a person from anywhere in the country).”

Well, it seems like Nandita was right as Kapil has picked up the nuance of his character quite effectively in the trailer. How he has performed in the whole film, remains to be seen once Zwigato releases on March 17. For now, Kapil is busy promoting the film as well as shooting for The Kapil Sharma Show.
