Shanaya Kapoor made her first on screen appearance in the reality show The Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives, and although she was just herself on screen in that show, the charisma she exuded made the audience quite eager to see her arrive on the big screen. Even she and her parents, Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, have said it for a long time that Shanaya wants to become an actress. So, when it was announced that she will be making her acting debut with Dharma Productions, there was a lot of expectations riding on it.

In March earlier this year, the announcement was made that Shanaya Kapoor will be starring alongside fellow debutante Lakshya and Gurfateh Pirzada in Shashank Khaitan’s Bedhadak, marking the former two’s big screen debut. Along with the announcement, the first posters from the film were unveiled and they created quite an intrigue around this fresh cast and their chemistry.

Recently, some reports did round that the film has been shelved, however, Karan Johar took to his Instagram to share that the film is indeed on track. He wrote, “@shanayakapoor02 @gurfatehpirzada @itslakshya all set to storm the screens next year! Shooting commences first half of next year !!!! #BEDHADAK!!!! (sic)”. According to latest information, the actors are currently reading scripts and undergoing workshops for the film. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film is produced by Dharma Productions.

During the announcement of Bedhadak, producer Karan Johar had introduced Shanaya Kapoor aaying, “Introducing the gorgeous @shanayakapoor02 as Nimrit in #Bedhadak. An enchanting force to look out for, I can’t wait to see the energy she brings onto the screen! (sic).” Introducing his leading men, Karan had wrote for Lakshya, “Looks that will melt your heart just as easily as his smile will. Presenting @itslakshya as Karan in #Bedhadak. (sic)”, while for Gurfateh he said, “His brooding good looks will have you smitten in no time! Watch Angad’s character come alive in #Bedhadak with @gurfatehpirzada bringing his effortless suave onto the big screen! (sic)”.
