It has been 20 long years since Karan Johar’s cult film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerjee hit the screens. Reports had it that the filmmaker was now planning to come up with something even bigger on the same lines and which will also be touted as a sequel to ‘KKHH’.
Sources were quoted saying, “Karan has cracked an idea for a sequel. Now, all he needs to do is to develop it, which he’s doing and pretty soon there will be an announcement.” According to reports, Karan was thinking of casting Tiger Shroff, Alia Bhatt and Disha Patani, even though the cast was yet to be finalized.
However the rumours were recently put to rest by Karan himself.
After one of the leading publications tweeted the news of Karan making a sequel to the film, the filmmaker was prompt enough to retweet the tweet and deny the news with a clear ‘NO’. Check out his tweet below:

Even though we are kind of disappointed with the news, we are glad Karan cleared the air himself.
On the work front, Karan is busy directing his next period drama ‘Takht’ having an ensemble starcast including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. The film revolves around the war era and is slated to release in 2020.
