Karan Johar donates Rs 11 Lakh for Assam flood relief, CM Himanta Biswa thanks him

The Northeastern state of Assam is witnessing one of the biggest floods of the decade. Many homes, businesses, roads, train tracks, etc are submerged under water. People are in dire need of necessities and to help the people of Assam many are stepping forward to help them. Bollywood celebs are also at the forefront and donating generously. Aamir Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Rohit Shetty and many more celebrities have donated to the CM Relief fund. Now filmmaker Karan Johar has stepped up and extended his support to the people of Assam.

The Dharma Production head honcho has donated Rs 11 lakh towards Assam flood relief. Himanta Biswa the CM of Assam has thanked Karan Johar for his generous donation. The CM also thanked Rohit Shetty, Arjun Kapoor and others for their help.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Grateful to film producer Shri @karanjohar and Dharma Productions for contributing ₹11 lakh to CM Relief Fund. Also, acknowledge Shri Rohit Shetty for his initiative of getting the entire Indian film industry together for the cause of #AssamFloods. @iamrohitshetty.”

On the work front, Karan Johar is back with a new season of Koffee With Karan. The popular chat show will be premiering on Disney Plus Hotstar. Promos of the show featuring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh are viral on the internet. Koffee With Karan season 7 is set to stream on Disney+Hotstar from July 7 onwards.
