Karan Johar explains why Taapsee Pannu was not called on Koffee With Karan 7

The popular show, Koffee With Karan 7 has now ended; however, in the last episode, filmmaker Karan Johar revealed quite a few spicy details about the show that grabbed everyone’s attention. Tanmay Bhat, Kusha Kapila, Niharika NM and Danish Sait who graced the show as jury members. Among many, KJo was put in the spotlight by when he was asked about Taapsee Pannu not gracing the show.

Kusha asked, “A lot of actors who’ve had critical successes over the last two years have not been called on Koffee With Karan yet. One of whom is Taapsee Pannu. Is there some sort of vetting process?”

Karan responded, “It’s 12 episodes, you’ve got to choose combinations that add up. Just to tell Taapsee that when I will request and ask her to come on the show, where we can work out an exciting combination. And she declines me, I’ll be sad.”

Earlier in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Taapsee Pannu was asked why she isn’t seen on Koffee With Karan 7 despite being one of the most successful actors in Bollywood. Taapse said, “Nahi bhai nahi bulaya mujhe. Nahi bulaya hai. (No I am not invited to the show).” Anurag Kashyap, who has directed Dobaaraa, added, “Humlog ko nahi bulaya bhai. (We are not invited to the show).”

The Shabaash Mithu actor added, “We are not as exciting as… I keep telling everyone who ask me probably…”

Moreover, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director even opened up about trolls and his mental health issues and how trolls affect his mental health, he responded, “I actually built some kind of thick skin over the years. Honestly, it doesn’t bother me the way people think it should bother me. When I read stuff that is completely putrid, awful, they come down to abusing even like my kids, I mean those are times where actually I feel like, F***, just leave them out of it. You can say what you want about me, my sexuality, all the conspiracy theories they have, and really down and dirty but it doesn’t bother me.”
