Karan Johar issues a clarification on ‘intimate gathering’ as he tests negative for COVID-19

Filmmaker-producer Karan Johar has tested negative for COVID-19. He made a post on Wednesday and informed everyone about the same. Karan Johar mentioned that he took the RTPCR test twice, and has tested COVID negative. Karan even issued a clarification on the ‘intimate gathering’ hosted by him, at his residence on December 8, which was attended by a few celebrities from the industry. KJo clarified that the ‘intimate gathering’ was attended by eight people only. He asserted that his residence is not a COVID ‘hotspot’ and asked everyone to refrain from making such remarks.

Taking to his Instagram stories, the Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani director informed, “MY FAMILY AND I and everyone at home have done their RTPCR tests and with the grace of God we are all NEGATIVE! Infact I tested twice just to be safe and am NEGATIVE…I truly appreciate the grandest efforts of the BMC to ensure the safety of our city… Salute to them. (sic)”

He added, “To some members of the media I would like to clarify that a 8 people intimate gathering is not a “party”….And my home which we maintain strict protocols in is certainly no “hotspot” of covid. Alll of us are responsible and masked at all times and NO one would treat this pandemic lightly…my request to certain members of the media is to exercise some restraint in Their extreme reportage without the assessment of facts! (sic)” The filmmaker concluded his note by sending out ‘Lots of love and safety’ to all.

Meanwhile, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, Amrita Arora, Seema Khan and Maheep Kapoor tested positive for the coronavirus recently. Kareena confirmed she has tested positive on Instagram. They had attended the intimate gathering hosted by Karan Johar on December 8. Reportedly, Malaika Arora and Karisma Kapoor also attended the intimate gathering. According to reports, at the dinner there “was one person who seemed unwell and was coughing,” said Kareena’s spokesperson.
