Karan Johar to make a Hindi remake of Marathi film ‘Sairat’

2016’s most loved regional film, ‘Sairat’, now will have a Hindi remake, produced by none other than our ‘Student of the Year’ director, Karan Johar. According to the reports, Karan Johar’s Dharma Production has acquired the remaking rights of this film.

Reports say that Dharma Productions has joined hands with Zee (the original producers of ‘Sairat’) to produce the remake and the work on it has already begun. A team of writers is finalising the draft of the film and the makers are reportedly hunting for a new bunch of actors to feature in this film.

‘Sairat’ starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar was among the top grossers of this year. The film managed to mint approximately 90 crore at the box office which is a fantastic amount for a regional film. Many Bollywood celebs had praised this film and well, a Hindi remake of same sounds interesting.
