Karan Johar‘s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ has been giving rise to controversies ever since its first season. The latest season also created a stir when cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul got involved in sexist and misogynistic comments about women. From cricketers, Bollywood celebs to viewers everyone condemned the remarks made by these two cricketers on the show and later on, the episode was pulled off from the OTT platform. Also, BCCI banned Hardik and Rahul from the Australia-India ODI series. While the cricketers issued an apology for their remarks, Karan Johar so far never made any comment on the entire issue.
After staying silent for quite a long time, now Karan has finally reacted on the entire fiasco.
During an interview with ET Now, Karan has spoken about the whole controversy that created a ruckus. He said that he felt ‘very responsible’ as it was his show. “I invited them as guests and so the ramifications and repercussion of the show are my responsibility. I have had so many so many sleepless nights just wondering about how I can undo this damage, who is gonna listen to me. It’s now gone into a zone which is beyond my control,” said Karan.
Karan also said that his questions have standard but it’s not under his control how the guests would respond. “I have to say that the questions that I asked the two boys are the questions I ask everyone including women. I have no control about the answers that come my way,” added Karan.
The ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ director concluded by apologizing and also said that Hardik and Rahul have faced the price for it already.
