Karan Johar on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani: There is unbashed naach-gaana

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani has been making headlines ever since it was announced. The upcoming family drama also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. And now, Karan Johar, who is directing Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, has opened up about the film.

Speaking about Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Karan told Mid Day, “There is unabashed naach-gaana. Dharamji is a ball of love, and at 86, he is so passionate. Shabanaji is an acting institution. With Jayaji, whom I call aunty J, I feel like I have a mom on the set.”

He also admitted that the film will face its share of criticism. He said, “I read the criticism before the praise. The praise does nothing for you, but what’s bad or what’s mediocre needs to be told. I even read what the trolls write. I feel the more grounded I am, the more I will be able to fly.” Alia and Ranbir starrer is slated to release in February next year.

On the other hand, Alia and Ranveer have interesting projects in the pipeline. Alia recently wrapped up shooting for her Hollywood debut film, Heart of Stone. She will be seen sharing screen space with Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, Sophie Okonedo, and Matthias Schweighofer. Apart from this, Alia also has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in her kitty. Brahmastra also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. It is slated to release in September this year.

Talking about Ranveer, he has Cirkus.
