Kareena Kapoor Khan is having a good run at the movies. Despite motherhood, she delivered a big hit with ‘Veere Di Wedding’. Her last film – which is not a chick flick – did over 80 crore business at the box office. As a result of this, Bebo has decided to increase her remuneration.
A few years back, Kareena had hit a little low in her career because she wasn’t getting the kind of roles and films she wanted to do. She had a 15-minute appearance in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and has not been seen opposite a superstar for quite some time. Hence her market value had dipped. Now, she’s suddenly back in the game with two big Dharma projects – Raj Mehta’s ‘Good News’ opposite Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar’s ‘Takht’ which boasts of a heavyweight ensemble.
After signing these two films, Kareena’s price has shot up by 100 per cent. “She has doubled her fee. Recently, she was offered a film by a female director who has given a few hit films. Usually, Bebo charges around 4-5 crore for a film but for this movie., she demanded 8 crore. That was a ridiculous tantrum she threw and eventually, things didn’t work out and the filmmaker cast another heroine.” Woh baat alag hai that the director’s new heroine claims she gets triple the price she actually receives for a film. But at the end of it all, the producers won’t have a huge pocket pinch, even if their actress makes such tall claims.
